How to overcome the overwhelm

The modern world is designed in such a way that it’s very easy to get overwhelmed.
We all go through so many external triggers every day. Right from the moment we wake up…we are bombarded with content from social media…emails, posts, videos…then the things you have in your to do lists for the day, your responsibilties towards your work, family etc, and at the same time your body is going through a roller coaster of sensations, emotions, physical discomfort. Mind running in hundred directions… chasing one thought after the other… creating scenarios, making it feel real in the body…The triggers are endless..
And in between all of this…something beautiful is always present… Your presence.
When you slow down, take a moment, to notice your aliveness by connecting with your breathe and your body you will experience how beautifully your breathe is moving, your heart is beating, trillions of cells in your body are doing the best they can to keep you alive, and healthy. Your kidneys, livers, pancreas, digestion.. all the functions of the body are happening on it’s own. When you pause, look outside.. you will also see the same presence in the trees, in the sky, in the sun, in the birds all in harmony…without any drama, noise… doing their jobs giving light, oxygen, air..
When you’re identified just with your thoughts all the time, you’re either in the past or in the future which creates worry, anxiety, suffering and resistance within which further leads to contracting of the breathe, of the body, of the energy.
The simple way to overcome the overwhelm is to slow down.
How do we do that?
Pause everything that you’re doing in this very moment, connect with your breath & the sensations in your body, or look up to the sky, take slow conscious breathe, do nothing, sit in silence.. observe thoughts passing by..
Also, try this short yet power visualisation:
Find a comfortable space. Set an alarm for 5 minutes. Close your eyes and ask yourself.. what’s something that bothers me the most?
Once it comes in to awareness… visualise this bothering thing melting or disappearing away from your life.
Now, how would it feel to not have this thing that had consumed your life anymore… - feel the spaciousness in your heart and in your body now.
Ask, What would your life be like now that you don’t have to worry about it anymore?
What would you do with the new way of being that you are feeling?
Write down any insights that come.. follow your intuition.
